The American Medical Association has established AMA Solutions Inc. to provide various services to group medical practices and individual doctors. For physician practices, the company offers long-distance phone service, credit card processing, lease financing for equipment and medical supplies. For doctors, the firm provides home loans, credit cards, auto leasing and insurance. AMA Solutions formerly was AMA Financing and Practice Services.

AMA: the way health care should be

Article Abstract:

Standards for professional medical conduct are set by the American Medical Assn (AMA) and enforced by the various state medical boards. There is a gap between reality and the standards of conduct which both physicians and the public have become aware of. The AMA is refocusing itself and becoming the leading advocate for good health care and the most pressing needs in the US health care system are being addressed.

Article Abstract:

The Assn of American Physicians & Surgeons plans to break away from negotiations between the American Medical Assn and the federal government and file a lawsuit against the government over Medicare's evaluation and management services regulations. The group claims the guidelines are unconstitutional and unlawful. The AMA, meanwhile, continues negotiating for some guidelines.
