Menopausal hormones and risk of ovarian cancer

Article Abstract:

A study is conducted to determine if use of menopausal hormones is associated with ovarian cancer and if risk varies by the type of hormone used. It is concluded that hormone replacement therapy used according to current recommendations should not increase risk of an ovarian cancer, however, clinicians should be aware of possible increased risk among women with a long history of estrogen replacement theory.

Prediction of optimal versus suboptimal cytoreduction of advanced stage serous ovarian cancer with the use of microarrays

Article Abstract:

Gene expression patterns with the optimal versus suboptimal debulking of advanced stage serous ovarian cancers are studied. An analysis was based on clusters of coordinately expressed genes that resulted in a marginal improvement in predictive accuracy.
