Incidence and predictors of prolonged urinary retention after TVT with and without concurrent prolapse surgery

Article Abstract:

The time to adequate voiding, incidence of urinary retention, and predictors of voiding efficiency and urinary retention after tension-free vaginal tape (TVT) with and without concurrent prolapse surgery is described. Concurrent prolapse surgery does not appear to significantly alter postoperative voiding efficiency or increase the risk of prolonged urinary retention compared with TVT alone.

Prevention of vesicovaginal fistulas after laparoscopic hysterectomy with electrosurgical cystotomy in female mongrel dogs

Article Abstract:

The comparison of three methods of double-layer cystotomy repairs to each other and to single-layer repair in the prevention of vesicovaginal fistula formation in female mongrel dogs are described. The double-layer repair appears to be superior to single-layer repair for the prevention of vesicovaginal fistulas after the laparoscopic hysterectomy followed by monopolar cystotomy.
