Preventing medication errors and improving patient safety

Article Abstract:

The NHS has recently published a report to provide and explain various guidelines and recommendations to improve the safety of patients by minimizing and avoiding errors made while giving them medication. The author suggests that the case history of a patient should be properly analyzed before giving him any kind of medication and also the nurses should change their practice to avoid such mistakes.

Managing the increasing incidence of tuberculosis

Article Abstract:

Surveys show a high increase in the number of people afflicted by the bacterial infection tuberculosis (TB) in the U.K., which should be minimized to avoid a worsening of the problem. Nurses can play a very vital role in the management of the disease through prompt detection and treatment and in encouraging patients to adhere to treatment.

Depression outweighs other factors in worsening health

Depression leads to worse health compared to other long-term conditions but this can be improved by early detection by nurses.
