Profiles for academic purposes

Article Abstract:

Employees may need to present a professional profile to gain exemption from part of a course or entry to a course. The presentation of a profile requires commitment, but it can be a worthwhile procedure with benefits beyond its immediate use. Individuals compiling profiles should ensure that they are knowledgeable concerning course requirements. They should present a clear, concise document, including direct evidence with supported claims wherever possible, and they should ensure that they are presenting learning outcomes rather than experiences.

Presentation to a small group

Article Abstract:

The key to making an effective presentation to a small group is planning. The presenter should ensure that the aim of the presentation is clear to themselves and to the group. They should consider the composition of the group carefully, then select the content of the presentation so that it is appropriately targeted. The presentation will be more effective if it is well-structured and includes regular signposts and summaries. The presenter should also aim to ensure that their delivery technique is a help rather than a distraction.
