Progress toward measles elimination-region of the Americans, 2002-2003

Article Abstract:

The epidemiology of measles in the Americas during 2002-2003 and the steps taken to eliminate measles are highlighted. The elimination of measles as well as the development of a strong surveillance and laboratory network provides the foundation for additional accelerated disease-control activities.

Salmonella Oranienburg infections associated with fruit salad served in health-care facilities- Northeastern Unites States and Canada, 2006

Article Abstract:

The sudden outbreak of various Salmonella Oranienburg infections in Northeastern United States and Canada in the year 2006 is discussed. The analysis reveals that the infections were caused because of the fruit salad served in health-care facilities.
