Providing endodontic care for teeth with ceramic crowns

Article Abstract:

Teeth capped by all-ceramic crowns can undergo endodontic therapy with careful drilling and pulp excavation. The tooth may be entered with a bullet-shaped diamond bur, creating an access at least two millimeters from the edge of the crown and drilled perpendicular to the surface of the ceramic material. Following endodontic therapy, the access should be closed with translucent material to allow light transmission through the crown for a natural appearance.

The effect of multiple uses of disposable diamond burs on restoration leakage

Article Abstract:

The clinical longevity of disposable diamond burs is tested in order to assess the cutting efficacy of disposable diamond burs with repeated use. The results indicate that disposable diamond burs should be used for limited cutting procedures, with no more than three cavity preparations being cut with a single bur.

Permanent cementation of crowns on teeth with minimal tooth structure

Article Abstract:

The cementation technique of crowns is beneficial for cementing crowns or bridges when retention of the final restoration is problematic due to minimal remaining tooth structure. This technique is reliable and prevents crowns from becoming loose again.
