Managing silver and lead waste in dental offices

Article Abstract:

Recycling tips are provided for dentists who need to discard silver and lead waste. In dental offices silver is used in X-ray fixer solutions and lead is used in X-ray film packets and in aprons and collars that are used to protect patients from radiation. Dentists should also call their local and state dental societies for specific local regulations covering silver and lead waste.
