Qualified to talk

Article Abstract:

Ruth Hart, Michelle Goffin and Elaine Thomas are among the first Project 2000 course students seeking United Kingdom Central Council registration. All encountered negative reactions at the start of the course due to uninformed expectations. However, staff attitudes changed during the branch programmes that followed the common foundation programme. All considered clincal placement as the most rewarding part of the course. However, all are concerned about job prospects. They feel no better prepared than nurses on traditional courses although they may have different skills and outlook.
