RNAi suppresses polyglutamine-induced neurodegeneration in a model of spinocerebellar ataxia
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to evaluate the ability of RNA interference (RNAi) to inhibit polyglutamine-induced neurodegeneration caused by mutant ataxin-1 in a mouse model of spinocerebellar ataxia type 1 (SCA1). The result demonstrates the potential use of RNAi as therapy for dominant neurodegenerative disease.

Oxidative stress in neurodegeneration: cause or consequence?
Article Abstract:
The evidence for the involvement of oxidative stress in neurodegenerative diseases is examined. However, it is still an open question whether this stress is a primary cause or merely a downstream consequence of the neurodegenerative process.
