Rehabilitation medicine welcomes a robotic revolution

Article Abstract:

Several robotic devices, such as the KineAssist, were described during the International Conference on Rehabilitation Robotics (ICORR) conducted in June 2005 by the Sensory Motor Performance Program of the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago (RIC). The demonstrations revealed that robots could presently be used as precision tools tailored for use with patients undergoing rehabilitation.

Article Abstract:

The business of creating fetal images with 3-dimensional (3D) ultrasound as 'keepsakes' for expectant couples has given rise to a controversy about the provision of nonmedical services in physicians' offices. The debate stems from the advent of commercial operations in nonmedical settings, which could be performed by noncertified personnel with little training.

Studies illuminate HIV's inequalities

Article Abstract:

Recent surveys and researches have proved that the majority of the HIV patients constitute of gay and bisexual black men. The article presents a need for the development of better HIV prevention programs to generate awareness in people.
