Rejection by peers issue for handicapped MDs

Article Abstract:

The biggest obstacle handicapped physicians face is rejection by other physicians. The public in general is more tolerant and feel a handicapped doctor will have more empathy. Handicapped doctors met recently to form their own organization. Many were discouraged from attending medical school. The number of handicapped physicians will rise as population rises. Medical colleagues are not insensitive but need to be reeducated.
