U.S., Canada agree on Great Lakes cleanup

Article Abstract:

The US and Canada have agreed to cooperate on the clean-up of the Great Lakes. The effort involves the reduction of pollutants going into the lakes. Separate agreements to reduce transboundary air pollution and to cooperate on research and development were also signed.The Great Lakes region supports a human population of 33 million. Half of that populace obtains drinking water from the lakes.
