Tort reform

Article Abstract:

The American Medical Association (AMA) is completing a multifaceted and intense campaign advocating tort reform. The AMA's campaign involved print ads, fax messages targeted to physicians and telephone solicitation. Even though Congress has yet to pass tort reform legislation, the campaign demonstrates the effectiveness of the AMA as a lobbying organization. This tort reform campaign should serve as a model for future medical legislation advocacy.
