Among the discussion groups listed are the groups for dermatology, critical care, neurology, AIDS, pediatric pain, and a support group for medical residents. Gopher sites include Oncolink, a cancer-oriented server, the gopher for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and a gopher for the National Library of Medicine. A wide variety of resources is listed.

Research on embryonic development earns Nobel Prize

Article Abstract:

Christiane Neusslein-Volhard, Edward B. Lewis and Eric F. Weischaus have won the 1995 Nobel Prize for Medicine. They discovered the genetic mechanisms that manage early embryonic development. Dr. Lewis has been doing his research since the 1940s and published a paper in 1978 with the results. Drs Weischaus and Neusslein-Volhard have been doing their research together and published a paper in 1980 with their results.
