Risks in motherhood

Article Abstract:

Infant and maternal deaths may result from medical complications from having malaria during pregnancy. Underweight babies who are disadvantaged throughout their lives may also result. Community involvement in control of malaria helps improve the health and economic status of the women and children of the society. Enormously costly sickness and loss of life in highly endemic areas may help a community build up a natural immunity to the disease.
