Safety on a global scale: many countries, one cause

Article Abstract:

Implementing safety programs is one of the biggest challenges faced by safety managers in US multinational firms. Factors such as differences among the safety approaches of multinational firms, failure to enforce safety and health regulations in newly industrialized countries and lack of safety and health performance data can hinder the implementation of such programs. However, some multinationals have overcome these problems by setting performance-oriented goals and adopting US safety standards.

Safety professionals cross international borders on World Safety Day

Article Abstract:

Safety professionals from all over the world will promote the goal of safety without borders during the National Safety Council (NSC) Congress on Oct 28, 1997. NSC Congress attendees will benefit from information that will be shared firsthand by internationally recognized safety professionals and may also avail of Spanish-language translations to be offered for some of the subjects to be tackled.

Congress heads west: a day in L.A

Article Abstract:

National Safety Council Congress and Exposition participants could visit Los Angeles' sites and facilities in the course of the congress. There are a number of restaurants and shopping malls in the area as well as parks, beaches and other recreation areas that may of interest. Chinatown, Venice Beach and Pacific Palisades are ideal places to visit as well as Rodeo Drive and Santa Monica.
