Double trouble for type 1 angiotensin receptors in atherosclerosis

Article Abstract:

Drugs that target G-protein-coupled receptors have therapeutic utility and potential and include beta-blockers and blockers of type 1 angiotensin (AT1) receptors. Blood-pressure is governed by the angiotensin-covering enzyme (ACE), which generates the peptide hormone angiotensin II in blood and tissues.
