Serum and urine inhibin A but not free activin A are endocrine biomarkers of severe pre-eclampsia

Article Abstract:

A study investigates whether the levels of serum and urine concentrations of inhibin A and free activin A collected in urine and serum samples of women diagnosed with various hypertensive disorders could provide a way to accurately diagnose severe pre-eclampsia. Pre-eclampsia is a very dangerous complication during pregnancy and is responsible for a large amount of maternal and perinatal morbidity worldwide.

The identification of risk of spontaneous fetal loss through second-trimester maternal serum screening

Article Abstract:

The associations between risk of spontaneous fetal loss and risk estimates for Down syndrome, trisomy 18, and neural tube defects assigned by second-trimester maternal serum screening are examined. Women with high-risk estimates for trisomy 18, neural tube defects and Down syndrome reported an increased in fetal loss rate.
