Shortages of medical personnel at community health centers

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to determine the status of workforce shortage that may limit Community Health Centers (CHCs) expansion. CHCs face substantial challenges in recruitment of clinical staff, particularly in rural areas and the largest numbers of unfilled positions were for family physicians at a time of declining interest in family medicine among graduating US medical students.

Effectiveness of teaching quality improvement to clinicians

Article Abstract:

A systematic review of the effectiveness of published quality improvement (QI) curricula for clinicians and to find whether teaching methods influence the effectiveness of such curricula is presented. Results reveal that most published QI curricula apply sound adult learning principles and show improvement in learners' knowledge to perform QI.

Effects of work hour reduction on residents' lives: A systematic review

Article Abstract:

A systematic review of the literature regarding the effect of interventions to reduce resident work hours on the education and quality of life of residents is presented. Findings suggest that residents' quality of life may improve with work hour limitations, although the long-term impact on education remains unknown.
