Should patient contracts be used in the NHS? We consider whether or not lifestyle choices should influence how people are treated

Article Abstract:

Two British nurses debate over the use of patient contracts which will require patients to make lifestyle changes that will assist in their medical care. One nurse argues that the contracts will make patients take more responsibility for their own health and the other argues that contracts will force medical personnel to refuse service to those who do not quit smoking or lose weight.
