Smith-machine calf raise: hammer your lower legs with this variation

Article Abstract:

The Smith-machine calf raise is an effective training technique for the lower legs. Proper execution includes placing a raised surface directly underneath the bar and positioning the hands wider than shoulder-width apart on the bar and holding it at the base of the neck. It is also important to exhale toward the end of the lift and inhale as the heels are lowered for another repetition.
