Sprains, strains top construction workers' injury list

Article Abstract:

The statistical data on the workplace injury rates in the construction industry for the 2002 and the causes for it are discussed. While construction workers accounted for 417,700 of the nation's 4.7 million nonfatal workplace injuries in 2002, the construction industry had the second highest injury incidence rate at 7.1 per 100 full time workers. The most frequently occurring injuries among these workers were sprains and strains.

The statistical figures relating to the workplace injuries in the year 2002 and across different kinds of industries, are discussed. The manufacturing sector recorded the highest number of injuries, per 100 full-time workers.
