Stepping out of your comfort zone is very rewarding

Article Abstract:

A nurse's experience of caring for a patient with septicemia and pressure ulcers, who needed nursing on a waterbed with daily dressings, is described. The staff nurses were distressed as the daily dressings were taking almost an hour and yet they could not see any improvement. Under such circumstances, a charge nurse responsible for a medical ward within the NHS took up the responsibility and did the dressings without the support staff, and the patient made a full recovery with her dedicated care.
