Article Abstract:

Stoma nurses must possess management skills as well as clinical knowledge in order to deliver an efficient service. Stoma nurses are now involved in performing management tasks such as allocating resources and planning budgets. Stoma: treatment and appliances

Article Abstract:

There are now a considerable number of specialist stoma-care nurses and self-help associations for people with an ileostomy, colostomy or urostomy in the UK. Many technical advances have been made in recent years, and progress has also been made in recognising that ostomy patients have specific psychological needs. There is growing emphasis on ensuring that patients receive the correct advice and appropriate appliances for as long as they require them.
