Article Abstract:

Kate Dunkley, senior nurse practitioner and her team of nurses through Manchester Action on Street Health (MASH) service are trying to reach street-based female sex workers by offering them advice on sexual health and condom use, screening, smears and contraception. Kate is of the view that working within the voluntary sector enables her to develop clinic responsively, rather than expecting patients to come to her.

Nurse reveals ICU challenges following drug trial disaster

Article Abstract:

The necessary steps and emergency decisions taken by the nurses, to save the six young men who became critically ill in the drug trial disaster at Northwick Park Hospital, were revealed by the lead nurse. David Rawlings, the lead nurse stated that the ICU was extended to make room for six patients as they were treated together and each nurse was assigned a different job so that hey could respond to emergency.

Child obesity study in danger

Article Abstract:

Nurses from across the profession believe that more money must be found to allow studies to continue into childhood obesity and type 2 diabetes. They fell that the Department of Health's decision to discontinue funding the study is absurd at a time when obesity, especially among children is a growing problem in the UK.
