Sustain an infrastructure to support EBP

Article Abstract:

Leadership responsibilities for evidence-based practice (EBP) are essential to develop a practice culture that fosters application of evidence in day-to-day nursing care delivery. Developing and sustaining an organizational infrastructure to support EBP include, formulating focused functions for committees and councils of governance, cultivating patient and administrative roles, providing high-quality patient care and transforming the work environment.

Best-practice protocols: Reducing harm from high-alert medications

The importance of postoperative monitoring of patients who are administered high-alert medications is discussed. It would help prevent narcotic-induced oversedation in such patients.
