Team efforts reduce job stress

Article Abstract:

Businesses lose billions of dollars annually due to declines in job safety, performance and productivity caused by job stress. In dealing with this problem, companies either terminate the employee or choose to be indifferent to it. However, job stress can be cured through a cooperative effort by both the employee and management aimed at identifying its causes and planning coping strategies. Aside from establishing Employee Assistance Programs management can also adopt implement immediate changes to help reduce stress. These include creating physical health programs, improving sorroundings, and holding seminars on goal setting and time management.

A healthy working relationship

Article Abstract:

The establishment of work site health centers may lead to improved employee satisfaction and productivity. Quality, accessibility and efficient cost control are some of the benefits of employee-sponsored work site health centers. Corporate Health Dimensions, which manages 41 employee-sponsored health centers, offers on-site programs including routine medical exams, immunizations, minor outpatient surgery, radiology, preventive care and wellness programs.

The healthy way to reduce accidents

Article Abstract:

Proper management of employee wellness programs can significantly lessen job accidents and lower health-care costs. Workers who are physically and mentally healthy are more productive and are not predisposed to undesirable behavior such as absenteeism and substance abuse. Good health habits in workers will lessen the incidence of job-related accidents. The employee health programs of Campbell Soup, The Adolph Coors Co and General Motors are discussed.
