The anaphylaxis campaign: youth workshop programme

Article Abstract:

A programme that helps teenagers with food allergies manage their lives and avoid anaphylactic reactions is described. The workshops taught the participants useful information about eating out, kissing someone who may have eaten an allergen, using an adrenalin pen and handling overprotective parents.

Second-hand smoke: How damaging is it to health?

Article Abstract:

Research published by Department of Health in July 2005 suggests that almost half of all teenagers often experienced adults smoking around them when they were younger. The evidence and the action that needs to be taken to reduce the effect of second-hand smoke on health are explored.

Helping people to stop smoking: The role of treatment products

Article Abstract:

Advising patients to stop smoking is an important intervention that will have an effect on their immediate and future health. The nurses need to be aware of numerous products that are available that will assist the smokers to give up cigarettes.
