The behavioral flow sheet: a tool for the primary care provider

Article Abstract:

Behavioral flow sheets provide a cost effective, noninvasive mechanism for diagnosing and managing many behavioral and physical problems. To design and implement a flow sheet, define the target behavior, establish the flow-sheet format and type of data to be collected, and identify and teach the data collectors. The data should be reviewed regularly to identify patterns, triggers, and reinforcers. Then select appropriate interventions and use the flow sheet to monitor and evaluate their impact.

Use of a microscope and video colposcope in sexual assault investigations

Article Abstract:

Details about an experimental technique designed to help distinguish and document whether a patient has been sexually assaulted have been presented. The technology involves linking two magnifying tools to a video camera, computer, and printer. One magnifying tool called a colposcope is used to examine trauma to the vaginal tissues and a light staining microscope is used to visualize the presence of sperm. This technology has been used in 15 investigations of sexual assault.

The comprehensive sexual assault assessment tool

Article Abstract:

The Comprehensive Sexual Assault Assessment Tool (CSAAT) is a guide to help health care providers document health needs, forensic information and treatment of rape or sexual assault victims. The CSAAT was mainly designed as a victim evaluation reporting tool, but is sometimes used in the compilation of agency statistics and as part of training programs for health care providers. Information from the CSAAT can be used in court proceedings and criminal investigations.
