The effect of statins on HIV rebound and blips

Article Abstract:

The effect of statins on HIV viral load suppression in an HIV-positive population receiving Highly Active Antiretroviral Therapy (HAART) is investigated as most individuals who receive statin therapy in the HIV setting are receiving HAART. There seems to be no influence on the rate of viral blips or viral rebound on the small cohort of HAART-treated individuals on statin therapy.

HIV-Associated Anal Cancer: has highly active antiretroviral therapy reduced the incidence or improved the outcome?

Article Abstract:

The effects on incidence and survival in HIV-associated anal cancer are evaluated. HIV-associated cancers have no significant change in the incidence, clinical features, or overall survival since the introduction of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART).

Transmission of hepatitis C virus among HIV-positive homosexual men and response to a 24-week course of pegylated interferon and ribavirin

Article Abstract:

The treatment outcome of acute hepatitis C virus (HCV) was evaluated in HIV-positive individuals. Findings revealed that the sustained virologic response rates in HIV-positive patients treated for acute HCV infection are lower than in HIV-negative subjects.
