The factors that affect HCA routes into nurse training

Article Abstract:

The progression for Health Care Assistants (HCA) into nurse training is studied by comparing the views of strategic health authorities and workforce development directorates with the Department of Health's figures on HCA progression. It is concluded that inconsistent practice exists across England in defining the role of the HCAs and ways are recommended to support HCAs to give more opportunities for HCA advancement.
