The ubiquitin ligase gp78 promotes sarcoma metastasis by targeting KAI1 for degradation

Article Abstract:

The research has shown that the expression of ubiquitin ligase gp78 has a casual role in the metastasis of an aggressive human sarcoma and that the prometastatic activity needs the E3 activity of gp78. Results provided new evidence for post-translational downregulation of a metastasis suppressor by its ubiquitin ligase that has resulted in abrogation of its metastasis-suppressing effects.

Angiogenesis inhibitors: motivators of metastasis?

Article Abstract:

The Angiogenesis inhibitors the main motivators for occurrence of metatasis by depriving tumors of oxygen. It is stated that tumor cell resistance to anti-angiogenic therapy through sustained viability may represent a previously unrecognized challenge.

Road map to metastasis

Article Abstract:

Reports indicate that the propensity to metastasize might be hardwired early during tumor development. However, now it seems that breast cancer cells might acquire a gene signature early in tumorigenesis that predicts the site of metastasis.
