The use of counseling and leadership skills in cancer care

Article Abstract:

An important link between appropriate use of counseling skills and effective nurse leadership is improving the psychological well being of patients. Core nurse members should achieve proven academic competency in counseling theory and skills and should use them with leadership skills, to empower and motivate other health professionals and improve their awareness of the importance of psychological well-being in order to improve outcomes for cancer patients.

The development of new treatments for lung cancer

Article Abstract:

Lung cancer is the UK's biggest cancer killer and the most common type, non-small cell lung cancer, usually presents at an advanced stage. The last many years have seen the development of new chemotherapy and biological agents in addition to novel ways of utilizing radiotherapy and supportive care and despite the historical lack of investment in lung cancer research, many collaborative groups have come together to answer therapeutic questions.

Overcoming fear of death
