Therapeutic use of IL-2 to enhance antiviral T-cell responses in vivo

Article Abstract:

Results point out that in the therapeutic effect of interleukin-2 depends on the timing of its administration and the differentiation status of the T cell. Data indicate that while administration during T cell expansion phase is detrimental, treatment is beneficial during the death phase, which leads to an increased proliferation and survival of virus-specific T cells.

Targeting of antigen to the herpesvirus entry mediator augments primary adaptive immune responses

Article Abstract:

The article discusses the impact of targeting the glycoprotein D (gD) or an antigen to the herpesvirus entry mediator (HVEM) on the primary adaptive immune responses. It is clearly shown that targeting of antigen to HVEM increases the immunogenicity of the vaccines.

Reversal of virus-induced systemic shock and respiratory failure by blockade of the lymphotoxin pathway

Article Abstract:

Researchers have developed a mouse model of virus-induced respiratory failure and show that blocking lymphotoxin reverses the condition. This may allow researchers to develop a treatment for hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome.
