Treatment of severe congenital diaphragmatic hernia by fetal tracheal occlusion: clinical experience with fifteen cases

Fetal lung lesions: management and outcome

Article Abstract:

Fetal lung lesions may be treated prior to or after birth. There are two types of cysts, congenital cystic adenomatoid malformations and extralobar pulmonary sequestrations. Surgery in the womb is one of several options with an excellent outcome. Physicians managed the antenatally diagnosed 175 cases either with elective abortion, fetal or postnatal surgery, thoracoamniotic shunt placement, or a wait-and-see attitude. There were few serious complications.
