UK licenses human embryo creation: "Dolly" cloner to create embryos for research

Article Abstract:

The Roslin Institute in Edinburgh, Scotland, has received a license to create human embryos in order to get stem cells from them. Stem cells can be used to treat many diseases because they have the ability to develop into many different kinds of tissue. The institute will collect eggs from female donors and stimulate them to become embryos without fertilizing them. They will also use leftover human embryos from in vitro fertilization clinics.
