Screening With the Prostate-Specific Antigen Test--Texas, 1997

Article Abstract:

Only 37% of Texas men aged 40 or older had a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test in 1997. This test is done to detect prostate cancer. Almost all the men who were tested had been advised to do so by their doctor. This illustrates the importance of a doctor's recommendation for cancer screening.
