Walking into a war zone

Article Abstract:

Student nurses often feel that their training leaves them unprepared to deal with the realities of work as a nurse. Education has certainly made great progress, but by doing so seems to have moved away from the realities of nursing. This has left many nurses feeling very negative, and has contributed to the high numbers leaving the profession. It is now time for nurse tutors and lecturers to take more responsibility for skills acquisition.
