Watchful waiting vs repair of inguinal hernia in minimally symptomatic men: A randomized clinical trial

Article Abstract:

Men with minimally symptomatic inguinal hernias treated with watchful waiting or surgical repair are studied to compare pain and the physical component score of the Short Form-36 version 2 survey at 2 years. It is concluded that watchful waiting is an acceptable option for men with minimally symptomatic inguinal hernias and delaying surgical repair until symptoms increase is safe because acute hernia incarcerations occur rarely.

Effectiveness of Team-Managed Home-Based Primary Care: A Randomized Multicenter Trial

Article Abstract:

Team-managed home-based primary care (TM/HBPC) can improve the quality of life for some elderly patients as well as for their caregivers, according to a study of 1,966 patients. However, it is more expensive than traditional care, and may not necessarily lead to functional improvements or fewer hospitalizations.
