What can you tell patients about pot?

Article Abstract:

The California Medical Association released guidelines for physicians to communicate the therapeutic uses of marijuana to patients under the law approved in Nov 1996. The guidelines, which were released on March 14, 1997, describe the physicians' need to show evidence both how the substance might benefit or hurt a patient's condition, to tell of the lack of controlled clinical trials, and the fact that marijuana continues to be illegal under federal law.
