What's so good about natural pain?

Article Abstract:

Some observers believe that unhappiness is a natural part of the human condition and should simply be accepted. Others disagree, arguing that unhappiness, like physical conditions, should be treated with drugs. The growing use of antidepressant and anxiolytic drugs can be interpreted as an indication that GPs are beginning to take unhappiness and mental health problems more seriously, rather than as a sign that GPs prescribe these drugs because they wish to offer a rapid solution to a problem they do not really understand.

It's not worth the whistle: Nurses are constantly being urged to report bad practice

Article Abstract:

Nurses have been encouraged to report bad practice, but for many nurses the reality of whistleblowing is putting their job, health, mortgage, career and family in jeopardy for a point of principle. Nurses should not be responsible for the practice of their colleagues. They should be able to deal with a situation where a colleague is likely to endanger or harm a patient, quietly and efficiently, but should not be under any obligation to report to management.

Writing a letter of application(UK nurses; Learning curve)

Article Abstract:

Members of the nursing profession who apply for a new job should ensure that their initial letter is impressive. Applicants should state their name, address and home and business telephone numbers clearly, address their letter to the person concerned, together with their job title, and refer to their own relevant qualifications and personal attributes. They should appear self-assured but not overly so and should keep the letter reasonably short.
