Who needs care plans

Article Abstract:

Multidisciplinary patient care plans may be more useful than nursing care plans. A survey has revealed only 20% of nurses find them useful. Reporting routine procedures is a waste of time and individual needs are often neglected. Completion of care plans also may be inconsistent. However, documentation including input from other health disciplines such as ocupational therapists and psychologists may result in improved patient care.

Power to the patients

Article Abstract:

The community health councils (CHCs) that represent patients have found that being heard is increasingly difficult. The Association of Community Health Councils for England and Wales wants to reinforce the role of CHCs within the National Health Service, but the RCN wants CHCs to be independently funded.
