Why fathers count

Article Abstract:

Recent studies have shown that fatherlessness has a detrimental impact on the well-being and mental health of children. These studies reveal that fatherless children have a greater tendency to engage in drug and alcohol use and perform poorly in school than children who live with their fathers.

Split decisions: is justice blind to the value of fathers after a divorce?

Article Abstract:

In most divorce cases, men have to prove that they are fit parents, while women are presumed to be fit for parenting. Just 13% of men get sole custody of children at divorce proceedings, while another 7% receive joint custody.
