Will care checks raise standards?

Article Abstract:

The Healthcare Commission has decided to include Essence of Care benchmarks in the checking of hospital care, as it can be extremely helpful in improving the basic standards of the wards, as well as the community of the hospitals. The author shows that apart from raising the clinical standards, such care checks also puts a lot of additional pressure on the nurses giving adverse results and hence should include retired nurses to solve the problem.
