Will the Internet supplant community health networks?

Article Abstract:

It is likely that after several key issues are resolved the Internet will replace community health information networks. The Internet is a worldwide computer-driven communications network. Issues to be resolved include identifying a party to responsibly intervene when problems arise and developing a means of transmitting personal health and medical information reliably, quickly, and safely. Computer companies are at work resolving the safety issues and it is likely that data managers will serve as support personnel.

Finally, a central place to evaluate nursing systems

Article Abstract:

The American Nurses Association has developed a system to centralize, standardize, and publish data relevant to evaluating nursing practices and information systems. A common vocabulary is used within the system that incorporates naming systems from four recognized sources. Information system publishers can have their systems evaluated against these standards and nurses can use them to research current standards.
