A survey on safety personnel over employment prospects has indicated an upward swing, with most companies going for recruitment of personnel who are skilled. Refining skills in this area is very important as the right individual has brighter prospects. Those looking for making good money can move into consulting as it provides lucrative opportunity. Overall job security is being perceived by most of the personnel.

Article Abstract:

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the market for occupational safety and health workers looks promising and is likely to grow by 10% by 2012. Research on industrial hygienists indicated that professional with adequate skills and exhibiting certain types competencies were what they looked for while recruiting. A list of skills and essential competencies required are outlined.
