23 named to Cranes/Derricks rulemaking committee

The list of 23-members on Cranes and Derricks Negotiated Rulemaking Advisory Committee announced by OSHA administrator John Henshaw is presented. The committee will be Negotiated Rulemaking Advisory Committee responsible for developing safety standards for cranes and derricks.

The safety issues concerning health care workers are examined. The various risk factors they face on the job, infectious diseases like AIDS, TB, exposure to radiation and caustic chemicals calls for increased OSHA monitoring and development and implementation of safety plans.
