Yamaguchi, Kristi

Kristine Yamaguchi is a figure skater who was the first American woman to win the Olympic figure skating championship in 16 years. Yamaguchi was born in Hayward, California. Her early interest in ice skating was encouraged by her parents. She won her first major title in 1989.
