James Scheuer

James Scheuer, the US Democratic congressman from New York, lawyer and an unreconstructed liberal, represented a succession of congressional districts covering parts of the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn and Nassau County. In the US House of Representatives, he was fierce in his pursuit of environmental, consumer, and automotive protection, of fair housing and of educational programs.
